Witness said: Chiygoz tried to calm down rally participants on February 26, 2014
There continued questioning the defence witnesses at the so-called Supreme Court of the occupied Crimea hearing to review case of the deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Akhtem Chiygoz, on Tuesday, April 11.
Today the court interrogated Ali Abdullaev. He explained that Chiygoz had made attempts to calm the crowd on a rally on February 26, 2014, under the walls of the Supreme Council of Crimea in support of the Ukrainian territorial integrity.
«Akhtem Chiyhoz persuaded people to step back and gestured to make protesters to move a little back. The protesters perceived these actions as sedatives and not as appeals to anything. These were not any special gestures understandable only to the supporters of the Mejlis, but ordinary human gestures», he told.
